In 1998, amidst the turbulence of the Asian financial crisis that had left economies across the region reeling, I found myself at a defining crossroads. At the age of 41, armed with a deep-seated aspiration to forge my own path, I faced the daunting economic landscape of Malaysia. It was a time fraught with challenges, but also brimming with opportunities.

With the unwavering support and encouragement of my wife, I decided to seize the moment. Grounded in my extensive knowledge of the industry and bolstered by a resolute determination, I embarked what would be the most challenging yet rewarding journey of my life. My drive was fueled not only by personal ambition but also by a desire to make my parents proud, especially as the youngest son and the first entrepreneur in the family.

The early days were humble, with my wife and I at the helm, tirelessly managing our nascent enterprise, often surviving on merely 2-3 hours of sleep during the festive surges in demand. These formative years were crucial in shaping what Meriah would eventually become.

From our first production factory established in the year 2000 to now operating five specialized facilities, our journey is a profound affirmation of our hard work, perseverance, and relentless dedication to building not just a company, but to forge a lasting legacy of excellence for our family and the communities we serve.

As I write this today, buoyed by more than two decades of experience, I am filled with hope and eager anticipation. Even as Meriah is poised for growth, we stay steadfast in our commitment to bring our world of health and flavour to families everywhere.
