INGREDIENTS:

• 3g curry leaves (cut into small pieces) • 300g dhal (soaked in water for 3 hours) • 3g dried chilli (cut into small pieces) • 3g bird’s eye chilli (cut into small pieces) • 8g fennel seeds • 4g cumin seeds • 5g salt • 2g sugar • Wheat flour (use only if the mixture does not hold together)

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove the soaked dhal from the water and pat dry with a kitchen towel.

2. Take 200g of the soaked dhal and blend it. Set the remaining dhal aside for later use.

3. Mix the blended dhal with the dried chilli, curry leaves, bird’s eye chilli and remaining soaked dhal.

4. Shape the mixture into your desired size and shape.

5. Heat oil in a pan.

6. Fry the shaped masalode until golden brown.
